#Red4Ed Next Steps – TODAY! URGENT! THANKS IN ADVANCE!
It's time to take the #Red4Ed movement to the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners. The public hearing on the budget is on June 4th at 5PM and we are asking the County Commissioners to fully fund the CMS budget request.
An increase to the county supplement, support for our EL students, funding for AVID, and funding for cultural proficiency training are only some of what was LEFT OUT of the County Manager's proposed budget, a budget that only included approximately 50% of what CMS requested.
1. Call and E-mail the Mecklenburg County Commissioners and ask them to fully fund the CMS Budget Request. A 2 page toolkit is located here. (and also attached) It has the contact information, an E-mail template, as well as the talking points as to why the County needs to prioritize our students and FULLY fund the CMS Budget request
2. Share with others about the Public Hearing on June 4th at 5PM and the need for your friends and network to contact their County Commissioners and tell them to FULLY fund the CMS Budget request. The RSVP link is here. And the Facebook event is located here. You can also Forward this email to your networks.
